About Me
Felix Fomengia holds an MSc in Cybersecurity and Forensics from the University of Westminster, London. An award-winning cybersecurity and digital technology professional with 8+ years of experience across security architecture, secure product development, digital transformation and technology entrepreneurship. Proven track record of founding and scaling digital products, strengthening production security and delivering technology-led transformation across private-sector, multilateral and international environments. Combines hands-on expertise in cybersecurity, software development, cloud-enabled systems and technical leadership with measurable commercial, institutional and industry impact, supported by competitive technology awards and the UK Government’s Chevening Scholarship.
He currently works as a Strategic Coordination Expert at the African Union, Office of the Director General (ODG), where he leads on digital transformation and systems optimisation, portfolio delivery support, as well as innovation and stakeholder engagement to strengthen coordination and improve operational efficiency across the Commission.
Previously, within the same office, he served as a Digital and Innovation Fellow, where he developed key digital solutions and prototypes such as a knowledge management and operations tool, a file management tool, and a Calendar of Events portal (PRC & Sub-Committees), designed to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen coordination, and improve knowledge management across the Commission. Felix is an innovative tech entrepreneur and innovator from Cameroon, passionate about solving problems around his community using ICT and inspiring and empowering the younger generation nationwide.
Amidst his numerous works in tech, He is the developer and founder of the GCE Study App, an innovative learning app for students in secondary and high schools in Cameroon. Since 2018, the app has been an ed-tech solution for students to self-study and prepare for their exams helping over 20,000 students. With funding support from entities including the European Union in Cameroon, in 2024, he scaled the platform into a fullyfeatured web application at https://www.gcestudyapp.com/, introducing innovative features including Progress Tracking, Timed Practice Tests, Personalised Learning powered by an adaptive algorithm, and curriculum-aligned Study Resources, transforming it from a basic app tool into a dynamic EdTech platform, designed with Nextjs serving tens of thousands of students across Cameroon. He launched the Felix Fomengia Foundation, a non-profit tech empowerment, to continue inspiring and empowering young people passionate about technology, inspiring them to build and create innovative solutions and change-makers in their communities.
Within the tech ecosystem, Felix’s influencing ability has grown in breadth and depth as He has had the privilege to be a guest speaker in over 50 top-notch events in the country. For instance, In early June 2021, Felix was honoured to be a speaker for the National Campaign and Sensitization to Promote Cybersecurity Culture and the Responsible Use of social media during the working visit of the Minister of Post and Telecommunications H.E. Minette Libom, in Buea, South West Region. In the event which brought together over 1,000 students and participants, Felix led a presentation, on how students and the general public can make good and responsible use of social, sharing practical examples of how he made good use of social media to contributing to the growth of some of his projects. In the end, through my presentation, students and participants learnt practical ways to make good use of social media, contributing to the campaign’s objectives and the minister’s visit.
Felix, for his exemplary accomplishments and impact in his field, has notable awards and commendations such as the 35 Under 35 Cameroon Youth Excellence Award — 2026, Technology & Innovation category, U.S. Embassy-backed Cameroon Youth Awards, recognising exceptional leadership, innovation and contribution to Cameroon’s technology sector; Technology Impact Award — 2024, National Leadership Awards, LEAD Missions International; Chevening Scholarship — 2022, awarded by the UK Government to undertake an MSc in Cyber Security and Forensics in the United Kingdom; KMERTECH TIE Champion — 2022, European Union-backed national technology entrepreneurship competition, Second Place in the EdTech category; 40 Under 40 Honoree — 2021, Cameroon Achievers Awards, AVICOMM Group, recognised as an Entrepreneur among Cameroon’s leading young innovators and achievers; and National Laureate, Third Prize — 2019 Orange Social Venture Prize in Africa and the Middle East (POESAM), awarded by Orange Cameroun for the Cameroon GCE Guide App.
