I was delighted to visit Berlin Global Government Technology Centre, the German Federal Foreign Office, and German Startup Possible Digital and to take part in these engagements, as part of the AU Digital & Innovation Fellowship Learning Tour.
At the GovTech Campus Deutschland, discussions covered legacy IT limitations, Digital Public Infrastructure, AI adoption in GovTech, and data-sharing challenges in Europe (especially Germany) and Africa. Visiting Startup Possible Digital offered valuable insights into data-driven approaches and public innovation, with lessons from the work of the GovTech startup.
At the Auswärtiges Amt (Federal Foreign Office) Germany with the German Data Innovation Lab team, it was great to learn how they use data and AI to address governance challenges, inform foreign policy, and promote principles and tools for data and AI adoption.
